Many of ASANO’ s blocks use stainless steel casting-integrated bodies. The main bodies have been carefully designed and formed, for example, ribs are created in sections requiring strength, to which a force is applied so that such sections have thick walls to develop both strength and lightweight, compact characteristics simultaneously. ASANO has superior casting capabilities that enable shapes to be formed with a high degree of freedom. For blocks, forged parts are used for swiveling sections that require strength particularly for suspension, while casting parts are used for the main body (around the sheave). Combining both casting and forging produces products that are extremely compact and lightweight as well as exceptionally strong, both of which are characteristics that are difficult to develop.

Realizing that many blocks are used in extreme environments such as on ships and at harbors, many block products are manufactured from special stainless steel. This special stainless steel is highly resistant to seawater, and offers superior corrosion- and abrasion-resistant characteristics. This extends the product life which subsequently reduces costs.
